Swiss Looks: Day 6
Satin Bomber Jacket, Tartan Vest & Chinos From Ralph Lauren | Plaid Shirt From Rugby Ralph Lauren
Bomber jackets have a rich history, originally designed for military pilots during World War II. Since then, they have evolved into an iconic fashion staple and can be paired with almost anything. This particular bomber jacket is based on the popular and long-retired MA-1 bomber and features various boxing club embroideries as well as being reversible, making it a unique piece in any wardrobe. Legend has it that embroidering bomber jackets can be traced back to one American serviceman stationed in Japan during World War II, who had the great idea to take it to a local tailor and have it embroidered, sparking a trend that has lasted to this day.
On a chilly day in Zurich, the jacket was paired with burgundy chinos, a vintage RL tartan vest, and a plaid Rugby Ralph Lauren shirt, adding an extra pop of color. Although the shirt's fall colors complement the muted color of the jacket and the tartan print, the pattern mixing creates an intriguing and stylish look.
